Ava Kiwanis Club News

At last week’s meeting, club members welcomed Les Hallmark, pastor at Red Bank Church, for our annual Prayer Week Meeting. We appreciate the effort he made to get there and the devotion he gave on prayer.

Glenda’s mother did come home from the hospital last week, so we are very thankful for that.

At this week’s meeting, members will welcome Anita Parret from Ozark Action who will be presenting a program on “Claims.”

Also at this week’s meeting, among other items of business, we hope to finalize a work schedule for Kiwanis Peanut Day, which will be May 28.  From 8 a.m. until noon, our members will be at the intersection of Hwys. 5 & 76 passing out peanuts to motorists who make a monetary donation to our club.  Peanuts have been ordered and should arrive next week.

Monday, May 9, we completed the last Terrific Kids presentation for this school year at Ava Elementary.  Thanks to our co-sponsors for this event which include McDonald’s, Ozark Action and Century Link.

Here is a list of upcoming events which some of our members may be present:

May 10 Chamber Luncheon BBQ on the Square.

May 12 Ozark Action Program Anita Parrett.

May 12 Foster Parent Dinner 5:30-8:30 Highway Nazarene Church

May 19 Frontier Girls Program Sherry Vanderstine.
