A meeting was held at the Vanzant Community Center on Friday, April 15. There were about 40 members of the community at our meeting along with board members, Bobby Emery, Robert Upshaw, Debbie Stone, Debbi Shannon, Terese Wrinkles, and Brenda Massey. John Unger was absent.
The meeting was called to order by President Bobby Emery. It was agreed by community members that a pie supper will be held on Saturday, May 7. J.D. Shannon, J.W. Collins and Joe Shannon will serve as auctioneers for this event.
It was agreed by community members that improvements will first be made to the bathrooms and then the floor of the building as soon as funds are available.
A brief discussion of the Vanzant Picnic was held. Food, games and fireworks were discussed. Please plan to attend our next meeting to add your ideas.
A Facebook page was set up to share our events. We have also set up an email address so that you will be able to contact the board members. Our address is vanzantcommunitycenter@hotmail.com.
