Douglas County’s Child Abuse Awareness Event 2011 was a huge success due to successful community collaboration.
The Douglas County Health Department appreciates its partners: local city and county government; local news media; Kiwanis Club of Ava; Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT); local law enforcement; Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA); local citizens; Ava High School art students Raylein Holley, Kelly Braasch, Stephanie Cotton, Courtney Dowden, Alex Linder, Kelsey Regennitter, Calli Schaeffer, Ashley Smith and Erica Speck, and their teacher Sara Lemons; and all the second grade students from Ava Elementary.
Child Abuse is not a common issue for a health department to address, but one everyone wants to prevent.
