Black Oak Church

“He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked,” I John 2:6.

Brother Roy Frye read I Peter 2:18-25 for the devotion after we sang. Pastor David prayed and Brother Roy dismissed us to classes.

We sang happy birthday to Brother Peter Workman. May birthdays are Sara Maggard, Lois Graham, Jackie Lafferty and Dara Strong.

It was good to have Brother Keith back. We missed Annie and kids, Dara and kids, Bobby and Angie Turley, Brian, Carrie and boys. We had two visitors.

Please pray for flood and tornado victims, Glen and Louise Simpson, Betty Satterfield, Shirley’s family, Kathy Lindquist, Jeannie Miller and othe bereaved, unsaved, unspoken, our country and leaders, military, and other churches. I’m sorry if I forgot anyone. Lets just all pray for one another.

Pastor David took up the offering and Lauren, Blayne and Hunter did the penny march for Camp Piland. Hunter Adams sang a special for us. Pastor David sang then preached from Ephesians 5:25-28 on Commitment. Christ gave Himself for us. We should be a glorious Holy church for Him without spot or blemish. Committed to Him and the work we are called to do.

Sunday evening worship began with singing. Pastor David sang then preached from Hebrews 13:8 and Malachi 3:6. God does not change. His word does not change and the way to Salvation has not changed. People change, standard of life changes and where have morals gone to? He hears our prayers and answers them. He knows our hearts. There is nothing we can’t bring to Him. We must read, study and live by His word.

Wednesday we met for Bible study , but had to get a lot of water out of the basement. We appreciate our helpers who helped us accomplish it. Theta, Shirley, Roy, Michael, Chase and Bryse all helped David and I. We lost the refrigerator, but it can be replaced. God is so good to us. We appreciate all you helpers.

We will celebrate Mother’s Day with a BBQ at 4:00. The men will cook for us.

May God bless you always.
