Hello friends. As we walk with the Lord and grow closer to Him, the reality of the power of prayer becomes clearer as we can see the evidence of our loving heavenly Father’s response to our prayers. The apostle Paul understood the power of prayer. Paul prayed for believers during his own time of ministry, (if you are born again and follow Jesus, you are a believer, a disciple of Jesus) and today we are blessed by the apostle’s prayers, because we can read them and through observation, recognize that some of the prayers written by the apostle through inspiration of the Holy Spirit apply to us. How can that be? For example in the book of Ephesians, Paul writes to “those saints at Ephesus and to the faithful in Christ Jesus”. If you are “the faithful in Christ Jesus” Paul’s prayer applies to you.
If you are hungry to know more of God, to know the will of God in your life, to be more like our precious Jesus in words, thoughts, and works, then I encourage you to not only receive the following prayer taken from Ephesians 1:17-23 and 3: 14-21, but to boldly approach the throne of grace and pray it out loud for yourself.
The Bible says to seek and we will find, to knock and it shall be opened to us. This prayer can be a part of your prayer life for the rest of your life, as our loving God will respond exceedingly abundantly. This prayer is the will of God in your life. As an example of how to use this for yourself I have adjusted the “you” to “I”, etc., to make it in the first person.
“That the God of my Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: [That] the eyes of my understanding be enlightened; that I may know what is the hope of His calling, and what is the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power to me, who believes, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and has put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all.
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of my Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant me, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in my heart by faith; that I, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that I might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that I ask or think, according to the power that works in me, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”
I hope you will cut this out and use it often. Your life will be changed by your prayer and God’s love.
Until next time, God bless you and your loved ones
