This isn’t the time for the church to be cast down and sad. This isn’t the time for the church to be silent. The church ought to be happy. The church ought to be excited. The church ought to be filled with the spirit of God. Because it is on Easter Sunday that Christianity is celebrated. That is the day that Christianity separated itself from all the other religions, from all the other faiths, societies, and all the other cultures.
Christianity separated itself because the Savior is alive. He once was dead but now He reigns in heaven above. Thank God that 2,000 years ago the stone was rolled away. (Luke 24:2) Thank God that Jesus got up and walked out of that tomb alive and well. Thank God that Jesus only needed the tomb for a few days. It was more like a hotel room and not a home, used for a few days and then ready for someone else.
Two thousand years later people are still preaching the story that Jesus is alive. That He arose victorious over death, hell, and the grave. This is not the time to get scared about it. This is not the time to be bashful. This is the time to stand up and be counted as Christians because God had the power to raise Jesus from the dead. God had the power to cause the earth to quake and the angels to come and roll the stone back.
Some day the eastern sky will open and the dead in Christ will rise first. (I Thessalonians 4:16) Don’t be like the devil and the ‘cold-water’ committee. (Luke 24:11) Jesus warned in Luke 9:62 about being fit for the kingdom of God.
