New Hope Freewill Baptist Church

The women get a chance to kick off our week by coming together on Tuesday mornings to have a prayer meeting and lift up our requests to the Lord.  Our Bible study on Wednesday night was about Paul’s thorn in the flesh II Corinthians 12:7-10.

Blessed Easter was this Sunday! What a wonderful Easter it was.  My husband and I were privileged to be able to go to sunrise service at Mt. Tabor Church.  It was a beautiful service, and Bro. David Dodson delivered a wonderful message out of I Corinthians 15 about Paul having to re-proclaim Christ’s resurrection to the church of Corinth.  They had a wonderful singing and specials and it was just a blessing to be a part of it – it was also my first sunrise service so I’m praising God still to have allowed me to be a part!

We had a good crowd of 33 turn out for our own Easter service at New Hope.  We started out by requesting prayer for the lost, the people traveling and all other churches worshipping our Lord in spirit and truth.  We dismissed to our Sunday school classes and afterwards the children sang songs and had their penny march.  We had specials done by Pat, John, Ivan, Virginia, Larry, Lyndon, Scott, Mike and DiAnne.  Bro. Scott delivered a wonderful resurrection message out of the Gospel of John and the 20th chapter.

We also got to see one dedicate his life!  Welcome to the family!  After services we all gathered at the Legion Hall to fellowship one with another.  We sang and had great food.

The Lord allowed us to have a wonderful and moving evening service.  We had good song singing and back to back preaching by Bro. Scott Eaves and Bro. Greg Moseley.  Bro. Scott preached out of James 5:13-18 and Bro. Greg out of St. John 20:1-12.  It was such an awesome spirit filled service.  We had 23 in attendance and I believe a lot of needs were met and fulfilled, thanks to the promise of our risen savior.  I wonder how many people keep the resurrection in their heart all of the other days of the year?  It saddens my heart to say that when I lived in darkness Easter was just another holiday dedicated to bunnies, candy and Easter eggs.  But I believe that’s just how cunning and deceitful Satan is, that he can take away the spotlight from such a glorious day (and to me the most important holiday) away from what it is truly about.  Where would I be without my Risen Jesus?  That is truly a scary question, thank God for His son and what He did for us all.  Thank God for our Savior!

We want to also let everyone know that revival is coming up and New Hope very soon!  It starts on May 16th and will carry on as long as God leads us.  Bro. Justin Lawson will be our evangelist for that week, so we urge you not to miss out on a blessing!  So singers and musicians and everyone who can come join us and get revived!  Better yet lets keep revived in our heart all the time, it just might rub off onto someone who needs it!

Our service times are Tuesday morning prayer meeting 9:30 am, Wednesday Bible study at 7:00 pm, Sunday school at 10:00 am, morning worship at 11:00 am and evening service at 7:00 pm.  Come see a man! You won’t be sorry!
