Highlonesome

Easter Sunday Sunrise services at Chadwick Baptist Temple were well attended.  Glad to see Tom and Phyllis Pettit and daughter Angie Smith and Brock, along with Tom Crain and wife, as well as Rick and Debbie Sisco and son, and Wes Winslow and several other visitors.   There was also good attendance of those who attend Chadwick Baptist Temple.  We are glad for each and every one who attended.  Several specials were sung.  Rev. James Orick brought the message.  We enjoyed refreshments and the kids enjoyed hunting Easter eggs in the church house. Rev. Jon and Mary Mitchell attended Sunday.  He and Rev. Troy Hull started a revival Easter Sunday night that lasts until ???.

Easter Sunday dinner guests of John and Kathy were Amanda and Chad Medley, Ashley and Brady Rowland, James and Linda Orick, Chris and Christy Lakey and Shelby and Hunter Crossland.  A very good dinner was served and all brought food to enjoy together.  The kids hunted Easter eggs down in the basement.

David Holcomb visited us Easter evening.  Ray Holcomb visited us Monday.  Janice and George Morrison enjoyed a visit from their friend, Rosa Robbins, from down on Swan Creek.  Rosa has been to New York visiting her brother.  Phyllis Bloomer and her twin granddaughters visited the Morrison’s.  Ronnie Sinclair visited Rex Holcomb and James Orick.  Iona Maggard attended both services at Mt. Olive Easter Sunday.  Later that evening, great-grandson Casey Austin came and they went out to the Ervin and Sandra Maggard home at Ozark.  Get well wishes sent to Zelma Morrison.  Angie Smith visited her in the hospital.

Sympathy is sent to the Ed House family.  On Good Friday, family and friends gathered at Harvill cemetery for a private service for Dr. Randy Lea.  Dr. Lea was a great asset to the community.  He loved his dogs and cats and enjoyed walking his nature trails on his place.  James and I loved visiting him.  He was a very intelligent and educated man.  Rev. James Orick officiated.

We appreciate Gracie Williams for the very nice Easter card.  We love you.  You have always been a blessing to James and me.

Thursday, James and I visited his sister, Chris and Christy Lakey before going to the Lakey’s granddaughter, Shelby Crosslands’ play, “Three Nanny Goats Gruff”.   Shelby was Annie Goat, one of the main characters.  She was all excited.  And really excited we came to see her.  We visited Jason and Rachel Stuteman.  Their daughter, Emma, was in the play.  Mike and Judy Willis are her grandparents.

Lots of rain we should not forget this 2011 Easter in April.  April sure has brought a lot of rain.  Several are beginning to have a lot of damage now.  I imagine most water gaps are out. I should say, James and Go on found several kittens in her doghouse Easter.  Instead of baby bunnies, baby kittens.  James found a dead squirrel by the transformer pole.  I am afraid it may be our pet.

If any good come from all this rain I hope it drowned the ticks.

Have a good safe weekend.
