The 16th annual Bradleyville Scholarship walk/run will be held Saturday, May 7, on Brownbranch Hill.
Participants in the 5k run will be eligible for around $3,000 in total cash prizes. Both mal and female winners will win a check for $500 while second place winners take home $250 and third place gets $125.
Generous donors have provided more than $255,000 to help Bradleyville kids over the past 15 years, and the number going on to college has increased markedly.
The scholarship–the only one like it in the state–provides $1,000 for each year graduating Bradleyville seniors stay in college or an accredited trade school.
The run begins at 9 a.m., but walkers and runners should be there by 8:30 to sign up and get their commemorative T-shirts.
Those coming from the Forsyth/Branson area must take a detour because MoDOT is building a new bridge three miles west of Bradleyville on Highway 76.
