The weather has been interesting, one day really warm and the next day cold enough for a light jacket. Everyone has been walking and sitting outside on the warm days. We definitely want warm weather. The rain could let up a little. Rivers are running high and some roads are impassable.
Our tulips are gorgeous and are still in bloom. Roses are just beginning to bloom and the irises will be in full bloom within the week. Our raised bed garden has been planted with cabbage, green onions and lettuce. We plan to have radishes and more lettuce planted this week. Later peppers, tomatoes, squash and cucumbers will be planted. We hope to have lots of fresh food this summer.
Residents have been enjoying music, bingo, games and morning exercise. We may have some fun exchanging turkey hunting stories and calling turkeys this week. It isn’t hard to imagine that turkeys roamed the field in front of Ava place sometime in the recent past.
The administrator says that she sees turkey almost everyday on the way to work. A turkey strutting for a hen is so beautiful. They are so proud when they display their plumage and their gobbling fills the woodland. Even a thunderstorm or a squeaky pickup door will often make a turkey gobble in the spring. The Ozark Mountains and wildlife are magnificent. Dogwoods are in full bloom and sweet William flowers are everywhere, so green with the new leaves coming, cattle are enjoying the new pastures.
Easter supper was enjoyed by all the residents. We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and we wish everyone a safe and happy week.
