Last Weeks News – We began our service with prayer time at 9:30 a.m. with a few. Thank God the Bible says, “for where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them”.
Prayer requests were given for Pat Nall, Loretta Stiles, Joe Mason, Gerald Linder, LeaAnn’s friend’s family, the unsaved in our altar book and today’s service. Rick Crum prayed this prayer.
Doyle Humbyrd, our Sunday school superintendent, shared what a great place Heaven will be and there we will see Jesus face to face.
We sang happy anniversary to Danny and Connie Johnson. Danny said it was 41 years on this day. Connie said she was not cooking; her dinner was being carried in by the girls, Rhonda and Christy, and her mother, Betty Jenkins. God bless you. We are blessed to have you in our church family. They had all their children and grandchildren with them also.
Happy birthday was sung to Harold Menzies, Shannon Wilson and John Watson.
Van Menzies and Aaron Dalton received our Lord’s tithes and offerings. Testimonies were shared. Pastor Neal prayed the pastoral prayer and read from Luke 4. Jesus came to Capernaum and taught and they were astonished by his doctrine, for his words were with power.
We were dismissed with prayer and gave thanks for our noon meal. It was the monthly fellowship dinner time.
It was also our backpack collection day for Plainview School.
At 6 p.m., Pastor Neal prayed as we began our service. We sang from the old green books—some great old hymns.
Robbie Sidakin shared a testimony about going to see her grandpa. We had prayed much in our Tuesday night prayer meeting for him. She was glad to report about her time with him. LeaAnn and Erin sang two songs.
Pastor Neal continued from Luke 4, Jesus healing Peter’s mother-in-law from a great fever. She arose and ministered to them. Many others came to Jesus, He laid His hands on them and all were healed as He was there all night.
Tuesday at 7 p.m. is our special prayer meeting.
Wednesday at 7 p.m. is our Bible study from Genesis. Some will be hanging doors on Wednesday in our new sanctuary.
LeaAnn is working on an Easter program with help from others.

This Weeks News – We stood to read our devotional reading from I Chronicles 16 as we began our Lord’s Day service. Doyle Humbyrd prayed as many requests were shared. Among those were Joe and Kay Mason, the Joe Miller family, the Lonnie Williams’ family, Randy Dalton in revival in Texas this week, a young boy age 12 with cancer and others.
Happy birthday was sung to Isaac Dalton, the second son of Aaron and Melissa Dalton. We praise God for our children.
After Sunday school as we came together, Pastor Neal asked us to tell why we were excited about Jesus. Several testimonies were shared about Jesus.
Our prayer chain this week was for the family of Joe Miller and Jim Harris’ grandma, Thelma. Jim reported his grandma was coming home and the doctors found nothing. We praise God for answered prayer.
Pastor Neal prayed and read from Luke 19. The world would like to silence us and too often we let them, but Jesus said, “If these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out”.
We had time at the altar in prayer. God did truly meet us there.
At 6 p.m., LeaAnn Crum led us in prayer followed by singing. A testimony was given.
LeaAnn and Erin Crum sang.
Erin Crum, Abby Dobbs, Makinna Humbyrd and Andrew Dalton helped Pastor Neal read from Luke 19. He also read from I Corinthians 5, Hebrews 9:11 and Zachariah 14 about the Passover Lamb. We were dismissed in prayer by Brad Siler.
Tuesday at 7 p.m. is our special prayer meeting.
Wednesday at 7 p.m. is our Bible study from Genesis. Come and be with us.
Saturday will be another work-day at the church. Pastor Neal is cooking breakfast at 7 a.m. for all who will come. He is expecting turkey breast for lunch. Easter program practice will be held that evening and food will be provided. You can see we have food!!
Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m. is the Walk for Life at the park in Ava for Options Pregnancy Clinic. Some from church will attend.
