Joe B. “Pete” Miller, 57 years, 10 months, and 28 days old, passed to heaven on April 15, 2011 at Ava, Mo.
Joe Pete was born May 17, 1953 in Ava, Mo., to Joe B. and Goldie (Jenkins) Miller. He graduated from Ava High School.
Joe Pete was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. On July 1, 1996 Joe Pete and Jeannie Lee were united in marriage in Ava, Mo.
He worked for the Ava R-1 School District for 35 years as a school bus driver. He also loved and enjoyed farming and fishing. His joy was being with his family and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Gentry Church.
Joe Pete was preceded in death by his father, Joe B., and his grandson, Brady Lee.
Joe Pete is survived by his wife, Jeannie Miller, Ava, Mo.; his mother, Goldie Miller, Ava, Mo.; three sons and their spouses, Larry and Bobbie Miller, Ava, Mo., Tim Lee, Goodhope, Mo., and Chad and Crystal Lee, Ava, Mo.; five grandchildren, Candace and Kahli Miller, Bailey Lee, Camryn and Caden Lee; a brother and wife, Jimmy and Brenda Miller, Ava, Mo.; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Joe Pete were Tuesday, April 19, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo., with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation was Monday, April 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating was Pastor Riley Hall.
