Sunday prayer requests were many. There is so much sickness and people in the hospital. Douglas County needs to unite and pray diligently for our friends, neighbors and military. When God’s people unite in one accord, miracles happen and prayers are answered. Remember our military men and women as they are far away from home and family. They need our prayers daily.
Our special requests this morning were, Miller family, Marvin Graham, Preston Breshears, Don and Reba Nash’s son traveling with 65 students, he needs patience and God bless them with traveling grace, Connie and Leah Lee, Don G., Wanda Cox, Cheyenne Russel’s grandma, a friend of the Roberts family, Ray Patterson and Bill and Bonnie Bolding.
A praise report was given by Bevy. Her tests were good, our God is still on the throne and answers prayers.
Pastor gave a mini sermon and he read Matthew 24. There were reported a total of 75 tornadoes. There is a urgency and a tension world wide, earthquakes, super cells.
The Lord is coming back. Our salvation is so important, we need to know without a doubt where we are spending eternity.
The morning message was from Matthew 27, there was accusations made against our Lord, a mock trial, denial by a beloved disciple, mocking Jesus with a scarlet robe, a crown of the thorns pressed upon His head, spat upon, crucified between two thieves.
Why? Because He loved us so much and that was the only way to save our unworthy souls.
When darkness covered the land, Jesus cried my God, my God, why have thou forsaken me? This is not a pretty story but it is not the end.
He was placed in a borrowed tomb, because he didn’t need it for long, three days later, “Praise God” He arose. Our Lord is alive and is returning for us someday. We should all be excited. He is coming back.
We had a wonderful lunch after the morning service.
Evening service was our music, third Sunday night singing. If you do not have a regular church home, play an instrument, sing, read a poem and come visit with us.
We had communion after the singing. Communion is always a beautiful solemn occasion.
