Black Oak Church

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, ” Acts 2:21.

We are rejoicing at Black Oak over a young man being saved Sunday at church. We pray God’s greatest blessings on him. We thank God for him and his family and for all of our church family.

Our hearts are so sad over losing Brother Pete Miller. He meant a lot to David and me. Jeannie, Larry, Bobbie, Candance, Kahli, Chad and family, Tim and family, we love you all and pray God will comfort you in the days ahead.

We had several prayer requests. Please pray for them with us.

We had a special day Sunday at Black Oak. Brother Roy read the devotion after Pastor David led the singing. We sure missed Sister Shirely and Lois, Hunter and Brad. After Sunday school we sang happy birthday to Blayne Mendel. Brother Bobby took up the tithes and offerings, Preston Adams, Blayne and Lauren Mendel did the penny march for Camp Piland.

It was good to have Brother Glen Simpson with us. He sang three specials for us then Pastor David sang and preached from Matthew 27:15-21. Barabbas was set free by Jesus and stood very close to Jesus like many do today. Jesus came to save everyone, good or bad. Why do some refuse to accept the free gift of salvation that Jesus died for? It will change your life. Sweet peace that only comes from knowing Him. A promise of a heavenly home. I pray this Easter morning many will find Jesus. We enjoyed a delicious dinner then some stayed for communion and footwashing. What a sweet spirit the whole day over being obedient to God and His word. My cup runneth over.

Please join us Easter for worship, egg hunt, and worship that evening. Association is also Easter weekend. Pastor David attended the Presbytery meeting and will preach the Sunrise Service at Mt. Tabor, 7:00 a.m. Bibly study is Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. and Family Retreat at Camp Piland is April 28-29.

May God bless you always.
