The local Ava Area Animal Welfare League has been awarded a $2,500 grant by the Missouri Department of Agriculture to fund a spay and neutering program.
Provided through the “I’m Pet Friendly” program, the project will be funded by a special Missouri license plate that can be purchased by Missouri residents.
The “I’m Pet Friendly” license plate will cost $25 for the emblem use and $15 for the plate fee. The program will support spay and neuter initiatives in licensed animal shelters and non-profit agencies.
