Rainbow Ridge News

Tom and Jewell Johnson had several phone calls and visitors on the occasion of his 96th birthday this week. Tom and Jewell’s “kids” came in and out as they usually do. Tom preached Sunday morning at Springcreek Church, which is a blessing for the people of Springcreek Church.

Gene and Sharon Cherry visited with Billy Fletcher Saturday. Billy’s Aunt Jean Daugherty visited with him several times in the week.

Norma Stillings was able to get into the garden for a while last week. She planted a few potatoes, some lettuce, radishes, and onions. She made her visits to Rocky Ridge in Mansfield and Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center in Ava to play the piano and visit with residents.

It is a joy to see the new leaves coming out on the trees. When you drive along the countryside you can see the contrast between the pale yellow green of the new leaves and the dark green of the cedars. The white of some dogwoods and wild plums can be seen here and there as the red bud and Bradford Pear blossoms dropped away. Purple Lilacs white spirea, and brightly colored tulips add to the visual treat. Would we appreciate Springtime so much if we did not have Winter?
