Oak Grove News

We had a beautiful, although windy Lord’s Day, this past week, but we were blessed with guests and enjoyed worship services very much. Chelsea and Justin Gilmore were our guests and Lary and Linda Chase brought their lovely daughter, Malinda, who blessed us with a very special song. If you had come, you could have enjoyed it with us.

The morning message was “Feelings” from our text in Genesis 27. The story of Isaac’s twin sons, Jacob and Esau, and their mother, Rebekah. We heard the story of how they each followed their “feelings” instead of taking the time to ask God for His help, and direction in their lives along with the resulting consequences.

We dismissed our regular evening service so that everyone could attend visitation services in Ava, for a precious member of our number who has gone on to a far better place than this. Estalee Culvey went on to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 31, 2011 and we will all miss her, but there is no doubt we will see her again, in the resurrection.

By the way, you are invited to come and join us in worship, next Sunday. I can’t guarantee that Malinda will grace us with her beautiful voice, but there is a chance, come on give us the blessing of your presence next Sunday. We’ll be glad you did and we think you will to, God bless.
