New Hope Freewill Baptist Church

Tuesday morning our women’s prayer group met and lifted up our requests for prayer to the Lord. We gave thanks also for the blessings and the works he has and will do in our lives. Wednesday night, Bro. Lyndon led our Bible study on “The Angel of the Lord.” We had 13 people attend Bible study and had a wonderful discussion.

During our Sunday morning services we had 19 in attendance. We started out with prayer requests and dismissed to our Sunday school classes. After Sunday school the children sang and then had their penny march. After we sang songs Bro. Scott delivered the Lord’s word from II Thessalonians 3:1-5, “Let the word of the Lord have free course.” In these verses Paul is asking for prayer to distribute the word of God to others and be delivered from these not open to receive it. It makes me wonder how often we allow people who live wrong to continue living that way without being told the word and what they are doing wrong. We are among people who openly sin, do we openly tell them about God, or do we pass that opportunity up? Are we afraid and if so what of? Have we grown soft? We don’t have to conform to the world, we should only have to conform to the word of God. No, not all people are easily receiving of the gospel, but where is our boldness as Christians to distribute the word to be pleasing to God and add unto His kingdom? Where is that burning desire of the Christians to labor?

During our evening service we had 22 in attendance. We sang songs and Bro. Scott delivered a very powerful and close to home message from Ephesians 2:13-22, “ Jews and Gentiles united by the same spirit.” All I can really say about these scriptures is unity and brotherly love comes to play here. Knock down the walls of tradition and custom and love each other as Jesus Christ loved each one of us. Ephesians 2:14, “For he is our peace, who hath made both one and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.” No matter the denomination, color of skin, all things aside our ultimate goal should be to be received by the kingdom of God, and everything else unity, love, compassion, should fall into place. We have truly been blessed here lately to have witnessed several people accept Christ into their hearts and surrender unto His will. It is all worth it, trials, discouragement, persecution to see one more soul saved.
