New Hope Freewill Baptist Church

We started out our week with our women’s prayer meeting on Tuesday morning. On Wednesday, our Bible study group discussed different things that the Bible says the word of God is like such as in Hebrews 4:12 the word of God is like a “two edged sword.” Jeremiah 23:29 says it is like “fire” and a “hammer.” There are several visual representations of the word of God in the Bible.

We also went over yoke and it’s literal and figurative description. We were also blessed to have two new souls added unto the kingdom of God, and praise the Lord for adding unto us. Saturday we held a bake sale in front of Wal-Mart and the Lord poured His blessing out there also. That is something wonderful about our Father, He can be in all places and all times. We appreciate all who donated baked items and came and supported us. We at New Hope are truly grateful. Sunday morning we started with prayer requests and dismissed to our Sunday school classes. After Sunday school our children had their penny march then we joined together and sang hymns. Our morning message was delivered by Bro. Scott from the gospel according to Luke 4:1-11, “Satan tempts Christ!” Isn’t it something to strive for the perfection of Christ? It is a mark we will never reach, but something beautiful we can press towards. I’m thankful for the authority through Christ’s name to rebuke Satan. We had 21 attend our morning services and special prayers go out to Bro. Bryan and Bro. William, who are both in the hospital. We miss you and love you and pray the Lord brings you in service with us all soon.

During evening services we had 22 in attendance. We lifted up our requests for prayer and sang hymns. Our sermon for the evening was from Psalms 98:1-9. For a sinner being saved by grace, we should all understand that sweet song of victory and love that rings from our heart, or a new hitch in our step. Our lights should shine so bright that it blinds the sinner and knocks the evil of the world down. I pray that all the Christians out there magnify the grace shown to them to others also the Christian’s life is but a testimony that we live and that others see the sweet love of Christ that we have received that others can receive also.

We appreciate all the visitors we had at services. We were blessed by your presence and hope to see you soon. If you would like to come be part of services with us at New Hope, our services are as follows: Tuesday morning women’s prayer meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday Bible study at 7:00 p.m., Sunday school at 10:00 a.m., morning worship at 11:00 a.m. and evening services at 7:00 p.m.
