Hello from our home to your home. I have a couple of weeks of news to catch everyone up on. I would like to say thank you to everyone who filled in for me while I was on vacation. The people I work with are great team players.
Residents went on a couple of outings. Everyone loves to take country van rides during the springtime. On one van trip we went down to P Highway taking in the scenery down 14 Highway all the way to the Girdner Community stopping at the Girdner Church. Wanda Moore and Neva Vinson was talking about growing up down in that area and about the friends and family that they all knew and loved. Going on the trip with Ruth Evans and Connie Burris was Wanda Moore, Neva Vinson, Lena Carline, Norma Kennedy and Jean Morrissey.
Churches that were here doing the last couple of weeks were Redbank Church, Lonestar Baptist, First Southern Baptist and Redbank Church. We appreciate Norma Stillings, Darlene Sorenson, Ruth Evans, Evelyn Harper, Jeff Smith, Carla Meiser, Alesia King, Bill and Jeanette Cardin, Karen Sellers, Larry Moore, Judy Kent, Wilda and Kristy Potter. I especially like the help I get from my resident volunteers. They are great.
Ava Victory Academy visited and the residents were impressed with the way the children can quote Bible verses and sing some wonderful songs.
Ava Head Start visited and played horseshoes with the residents. The children also sang several songs to the residents that they had been learning.
We are planning our annual 4th of July Celebration. It will be held on June 24. If your group or club would like to have a booth space, please call Connie at 417-683-4129 for more information.
Our prayers and sympathy goes out to the family of Estalee Culvey.
We would like to welcome new residents to our home they are Goldie Miller, Zella Rhodes, Gloria McCullough, Bill Blair, Jessie Horner and George Tolmasoff.
Congratulations on Bonnie Stafford and Donald Ohr on getting to go home.
