Opening prayer to start our Sunday services was by Doug Miller.
After congregational singing, everyone was dismissed to their Sunday school classes. Our lesson was “Remembering Jesus Christ.” We need to make Him the focus and remember Jesus in all things. Keep Him as our top priority then we can truly know what is really important in our lives.
Our special song was by our singing group. Congratulations goes out to Dewain and Cindy Young on the arrival of their new daughter, Hailey Willamae Young, who was born March 30 and weighed seven pounds and eleven ounces.
Pastor Hall’s sermon was called “Man Of Sorrow” from Isaiah 53:3. Jesus was despised and rejected and wounded for our transgression and bruised for our iniquities. He was brought as a lamb to slaughter. In our life today, we are like sheep gone astray, fear not, we should not be ashamed of our Lord Jesus Christ who died for our sins.
Bro. Hall’s message Sunday evening was from Matthew 27:32 with some focus on the man called Simon from Cyrene who helped to carry the cross for our Lord. No doubt he left the crucifixion with his whole life changed. The sin debt was paid on Calvary’s cross.
Don’t forget our Wednesday night service at 7 p.m. on “The Lamb Of God” with video. They are so interesting.
Gentry Church will have a revival starting April 27 through May 1, 7 p.m. nightly with evangelist, Ron Roth, so mark that on your calendar.
In this Easter season coming up, let us humble ourselves with praise and thankfulness for all Jesus has done for us.
God bless.
