Caressa Willhite, daughter of Scott and Carolyn Willhite of Norwood, was named first alternate to the grand champion of the Ozarks Science and Engineering Fair in Springfield with her project, The Effects of Protein on the Fertilization of Quail Eggs.
Caressa will travel to Los Angeles, Calif. for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair which is an annual forum for more than 1,600 high school students from over 60 countries, regions, and territories to showcase their independent research. The Intel ISEF is the premier global science competition for students in grades 9-12.
Fundraisers are being held to help fund Caressa to Los Angeles. A baitcast reel and rod have been donated by professional fisherman Rick Clunn to be given away in a fundraising drawing. Lazy Lee’s of Norwood is also helping with fundraisers to help Caressa.
