We have great news here on our mountain. We officially have a pastor. God has answered our prayers. It seems like it took a long time but Bro. Donald Potter is our new pastor.
We get impatient and want things quick, but God always knows what’s best for us.
Sunday we had a special song by Jon, Lindsey and Grace and Evan Mitchell. They were joined by Darrell and Tammy Gunter. It was great to see this family singing together. Bud Hampton, Jon Mitchell and Irene also sang a special and the youth sang.
Wanda had been sick and was able to be back in church with us Sunday. Last Sunday James and Linda Orick joined us for church and it was great to see them. I miss being in church with them. Donald said he and Portia had met up with James and Linda down on the creek bank fishing. Now they have some good fishing stories to share.
I went to the nursing home last weekend and found my brother, Bob, and Angie outside soaking up some wonderful vitamin D. The sunshine felt great. I also got to visit with my other brother, Stan, and his wife, Dottie, from Arkansas and my niece, Debra, from Georgia. We all met up at Mexian Villa along with Howard and Phyllis and had a great visit during this week.
I guess my news is short and sweet for this week. I even have to be nice to Donald. After all, he is my pastor now. So for the first little while, I’ll be good.
