The Douglas County Commission had announced the appointment of a Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), as directed by the state.
Members of the LEPC, who will meet on Monday, May 2, include the following:
Larry Pueppke, presiding commissioner; Billy Long, West Ward alderman, City of Ava; Bill Philpott, EMA director; Richard Sturgeon, EMA deputy director; Reggie Johnson, Ava City police chief; Danny Maggard, Ava City Fire Dept.; Richard Mitchell, Goodhope Fire Dept.; Steve Wood, Cox Ambulance; John Rode, environmental; Sandy Pueppke, Douglas County Health Dept.; Anita Madche, Missouri Ozark Community Health (MOCH); Joe Corum, KKOZ radio; Keith Moore, Douglas County Herald; and Steve Walker, Emerson Climate Control.
There is also an open slot for a state elected official on the board as well as a representative from the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).
