Church of the Living God

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 – This evening the service was changed from Bible study to a cottage prayer meeting. We have so many in the need of prayer – those in the hospital, brothers, Wayne Applequist, Don Graham and the spouses of the sick ones, stands in great need of prayer too.

Going backwards to the Saturday Ladies meeting, we had a very good service.

The message by Bevy, was, What Are You Willing To Sacrifice To See Souls Saved? That’s a large topic to think on time, money, our comfort.

Its easy to reach out when they are people we like, but the unlovable? The beggars, the drunks, people who don’t quite meet our standards, think on this.

Sunday morning, April 3, 2011 – So many prayer requests – Wayne and Donna, Mike Jones, Marvin Graham, Aaron a friend of Teresa’s W., military, men and women, Miranda Hale, Angie’s family, Clay Calibat, Jeanette and Brenda Cardova, Gary Evans family, Gary, unspoken, Preston, Bevy’s cousin.

Special songs were by Bevy, Emma and Teresa W. and Linda.

Sermon by the pastor was when we are away from the Lord, we are in darkness. Only God can turn around darkness if you will come to Him. Has God made a difference in your life? Luke 15 talks about the lost sheep. When we have not God in our life we are lost in darkness.

During evening service, Sunday the 3rd – specials songs were by Emma, Katie, Bevy’s granddaughter, and Bevy. Katie done an awesome job. We appreciate you, Katie. Pastor’s scripture was in I Kings 17. Elijah is on the run, but fed by God and a widow woman. God told Elijah what to say to the woman, make me a cake, she had nothing lavish only enough for her and her son, but she obeyed, what Elijah had told her to do. Obedience is very important in our Christian walk. By the widow obeying, her meal barrel and her oil pot remained full.

Obedience is better than sacrifice. God will supply all your needs.

If you don’t have a home church you are welcome to come worship with us.

Bevy and pastor’s phone number is 417-683-6547. The church is located at the corner of N.W. 7th St. and N.W. 6th Ave.
