Trinity Lutheran Church Table Talk

On this 4th Sunday in Lent we began with the Bible readings as follows: I Samuel 16: 1-13, Psalm 23; and the New Testament, Ephesians 5: 8-14, Gospel: John 9: 1-4.

Our lector was Hulda Tipton.

Pastor Wayne Strohschein’s sermon today was based on the gospel of John. We don’t always see what we think we see or see what is really there right before us. Even in church we don’t always see very well. In some ways we are like the blind man. We needed healing so we can see spiritually. That comes in our baptism in the gift of faith and in the forgiveness of communion. I was blind but now I see said the man once blind and he
declared “Lord I Believe!” Can we say the same? Lent is a time to reflect in whom we believe.

Monday at 5 p.m. at the church the Sunshine Singers will meet.

Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Lenten Service and a luncheon will follow.

We wish to welcome all visitors and the new members that have joined us.

Please come join us Sundays, as we have adult Bible study at 9:30 a.m. and children Sunday school, with the church service at 10:45 a.m.

Communion is the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month and potluck luncheons are on the 1st and 3rd Sundays after the service.
