Sweden Church

In Luke 10:1 Jesus has appointed seventy to go by pairs into every city and place.  He has given them a set of instructions for when they are gone and has also told them to heal the sick.  When they return in verse 17, they are feeling really good.  They tell Jesus that ‘even the devils are subject to us through thy name.’  Now the next verse is a real eye opener.  Jesus tells them he saw Satan ‘as lightning fall from heaven.’  Wow!  Just think of it.  It’s not likely anyone would forget that sight.

Turning over to Revelation 12:9 John is telling about seeing ‘the old serpent, called the Devil’ being cast out into the earth and his angels with him.  So, this is where he came and he brought his minions with him.  It’s a cinch that his reputation followed him here.  If he’s an old serpent there, he’s an old serpent here, too.  The task here is for mortals to win the spiritual victory over evil and help as many others to win, too.  Why?  Eternity in heaven is much more inviting than eternity in hell.

Our guest preacher, Bro. Brad Pellham, warned that much of what is happening in this world is very much like Matthew 24:6-8.  Like it or not, the days on this earth are numbered.  Being victorious or not lies just around the bend.  Second Peter 3:9 ends with ‘all should come to repentance.’  That is the Lord’s desire.  It is up to the Church to serve the Lord’s desire.

Bro. Brad made a statement at the beginning of today’s sermon that is a real mind grabber.  He said, “Not going to church may not send you to hell but your lack of desire may.”  Desire, it’s a little word with so much meaning.

Copies of the sermon are always available and we would love to send you a CD of it.  They are free.  Call (4l7)543-6219 to get a copy.
