St. Francis Church

Sunday, March 20 was the Second Sunday in Lent and we continue to replace the morning prayer segment of our worship service with the chanting of The Litany or General Supplication for God’s mercy. Fr. Glen based his sermon on the Epistle for the day, 1st Thessalonians 4:1 “we beseech you, bretheren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God…” in which St. Paul instructs his hearers in how to live a Christian life.

We recognized St. Patrick’s Day by singing the wonderful hymn “I Bind Unto Myself Today,” composed by St. Patrick himself and sung to a beautiful traditional Irish melody.

We continue to hold the evening prayer service every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. followed by Bible study, to which the public is invited.

Everyone is welcome at St. Francis Anglican (Traditional Epsicopal) Church where Fr. Glen Hartley conducts services Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. assisted by lay leader, Tom Berthold and organist, Kip Smith. Visit our website at stfrancisavamo.org.
