Rome News

We got a good rain over the weekend.  We can always use a good rain.   It is quite a bit cooler though.  Spring isn’t here yet but we get to thinking it is.  We also got hail.  I think it was Saturday.  Cody Richards brought Braxton by Saturday a while. They visited with Tony Richards, Lisa and Charley Hampton also.  Braxton wanted to spend the night with his Grandpa.  Cody picked him up Sunday to return him to his mother.

Charley Hampton and his mother went fishing one evening and caught a mess of fish.

Lisa Richards began a new job next morning.  I wish her good luck on it.

Looks like we’re back into winter for a few days, it was a good thing the temp stays down because the fruit trees were fixing to bud and that would have killed the fruit.  It was 20 below down here in the holler.

Kyle Thompson and Pauline Richards drove to Ozark, Friday am to meet up with Norma Gross and Glenda Sue Stunz from Clinton, Missouri.  She drove us to Claremore, Oklahoma to the late Lee and Mavie (Applegate) Jenkins daughters’ annual sisters’ party.  We met at Georgia (Jenkins) Sanders home.  Sisters were Reatha (Jenkins) Haas, Owasso, Oklahoma, Sue (Jenkins) Johnson, Claremore, Georgia (Jenkins) Sanders, Claremore, Oklahoma, Norma (Jenkins) Gross, Ozark, Pauline (Jenkins) Richards, Ava.  There was fifteen nieces and Kyle for the party Friday evening.  We played dirty Santa, played games, took pictures and of course eat.  We usually go shopping on Saturday but it turned out rainy and cold so we just stayed in and did more of the same and others did come by to join us.  We came home Sunday afternoon.

Kelly and Deann Thompson and Kinsey and Kailey were in St. Louis over the weekend.  Deann attended a medical conference on Saturday.  They got into the snow and really cold weather.  They returned home Sunday evening.
