I know it’s been a while since I last talked to everybody. I hope you all are doing wonderful. I could say that I have been busy, but in today’s world, we all seem to meet each other coming and going. Our church has added a few names to our prayer list and we also were talking about the fact that we always need to keep the young preachers in our prayers. Satan is always out there trying to cheat people out of God’s blessings. It is up to us to pray a little harder and keep Satan from winning as many battles as we can. Donald preached a good message on the verse: I have fought a good battle, and I have won the race. That’s what we are doing every day.
Deanna and I sang a song together for a special. Deanna has such a special talent of singing and I am so glad that she uses it to serve God. Donald then preached on those precious memories; if you were ready to meet God. When it’s time for you to meet the Savior, then your loved ones do have precious memories and they’ll only have to say we’ll see you again in heaven. If you haven’t made your soul right with God those memories for your loved ones left behind will be sad ones. Don’t wait until it’s too late. God is only a prayer away.
Friday night we took our youth group out to eat hamburgers and French fries. We even offered to buy for some of the grown-ups, until Patty and Eric said they were eating somewhere else. I told them we weren’t paying for steak. I guess we could have dropped off all the kids and the adults could have all went out for steak. We might try that sometime. Do you think the kids would let us get by with that? After the food we took the kids skating. They always enjoy that and the adults enjoy watching. I think Levi had the hardest job of all. He was taking care of his sister and her friends for the evening.
Last weekend I attended my brother David’s wedding. David and Debbie got married and all of the children except one were in attendance. My mother was very glad to get to visit with David and his kids and grandkids. David and Debbie both have grandkids. Together they have a big family and we wish them the very best. This week I went to my granddaughter Courtney’s ballgame one night and kept Riley and Logan one night while they went to another game. Saturday we kept little Miss Alexis for Shawn while they went to play ball down in Arkansas. It’s so fun being a grandparent. I’m always teasing my boys and telling them that is why I had kids so I could have grandkids.
I don’t want to forget to tell all you retailers out there if you have seen an increase in sales lately you owe it all to Donald. He told all of us women we needed to go shopping, or was it we needed to not go shopping? Or maybe he said go shopping for fishing stuff. Well, since I can’t remember exactly what he said I’ll just go shopping. I’ll get it at least half right.
I went to see my mother and she asked why I don’t play the piano at church anymore. I told her I still play every Sunday. She told me that in the paper I made it sound like I never played anymore, that other people did. I know my mother taught us to use our talents for God, so yes mom, I do still play the piano. I also want to thank you for taking the time and patience to teach me.
I hope you are using the talent that God has given to you, but even more importantly I hope you are living your life for God.
