The Ava High School golf team competed in a 9-hole match at Liberty High School March 24.
Ava finished second behind Willow Springs, but Ava’s Cody Heriford was medalist with a round of 35.
Team scores were Willow Springs 159, Ava 163, Liberty 168, Thayer 176, Mtn. Grove 182, Salem 190, Alton 202 and Cabool 218.
Individual scores for Ava were Heriford 35, Dexter Fish 41, Matt Irby 42, Seth Miller 45 and Trey Everett 45.
On March 21, Ava competed in a 9-hole match at West Plains.
Ben Charles, of West Plains was medalist with a 37, and the Zizzers won the match with a round of 156.
Willow Springs scored a 174 with Cole Johnson shooting a 40.
The Ava team had a combined score of 181 with individual scoring as follows: Irby 44, Heriford 44, Miller 45, Fish 51 and Dean 48.
Ava was scheduled to play Tuesday at Ledgestone Country Club, in a meet hosted by Reeds Spring.
