March 16 – Wednesday evening praise worship began with singing. Bro. Hi was our leader tonight. He took prayer requests. We have lots to pray for. We feel so sorry for the people in Japan. Bro. Jeff led us in prayer. Bro. Hi’s thought for the evening was “Choices.” He read from Acts chapters 8 and 9. He named many of God’s choices in the Old Testaments. God chose many special people to do special work for Him down through the ages. How blessed we are today that we have the opportunity to “choose” to be a child of God.
Sister Janice was the teacher for our young people’s class tonight. We are so thankful to have five in her class and pray in the future more children will come on Wednesday nights. It is so important that we get the word of God into our young people, to give them a foundation for their future. Lots of good scripture were read by all in attendance tonight. It was a very good Bible study. We were dismissed in prayer by Sister Melba.
Sunday school began with singing. Bro. Jack Essary took charge of the service welcoming everyone. Prayer requests were taken and praise reports were given. God is good to hear, answer and accept our praises. Sis. Elsie Combs led us in prayer. Jack read Phil. 3:17 and 4:1 for devotion.
After a very good Sunday school lesson, happy birthday was sung to Laurena Mitchell. God bless. Testimonies were given by Jim Lafferty, Jeff Shipley, Doris Lambeth, Vanessa Mills, Charlotte Roberts, Hi Lambeth, Laurena Mitchell, Charlotte Roberts and Melba Austin.
Praise and Worship began with singing. Those singing specials were Charlotte Roberts, Laurena Mitchell and Melissa Harmon. Pastor Bill spoke from II Peter 3:8. He spoke about God’s time table. Sometimes God answers instantly, sometime we have to wait. He compared it to mushrooms or seeds. We can know instantly when we’re saved then we need to grow in the Lord reading His word and worshipping in His house. Service ended with Sis. Melba singing. We truly had a spirit filled service.
Sunday evening service began with singing. Bro. Jeff Shipley welcomed everyone.
Bro. Jim Lafferty led in prayer. Testimonies were given by Hi Lambeth, Lila Roberts, Janice Lafferty, Bill Austin and Jim Lafferty. Bro. Jack was our speaker of the hour. Sunday night he spoke from Deut. 31:6 and Matthew 14:22-30. We should always remember God will always be with us when we pray and trust in Him. We don’t need to be afraid or worry about things. We serve a great God, a living Christ.
