Ava High FFA Competes In Career Development Events

Ava FFA has been competing in several career development events and technical skills assessment recently and has placed at several events. Members have traveled to Pleasant Hope, Willard for Area XII Contest, McDonald County, Crowder Aggie Days, Comstock in Nevada, MSU Horse Clinic, College of the Ozarks, Sparta, and Rogersville.

At Area, the knowledge team consisting of Colton Burton, Autumn Dawson, Ciara Fossett, Kayla Tanner, and Trever Murrah placed 4th and qualified for districts.

James Elijah placed 2nd in Advanced Prepared Public Speaking and advanced to districts.

In Job Interview, Katherine Moran placed 2nd and also advances to districts.

The chapter scrapbook placed second; Brittany Maggard’s completed placement recordbook placed first, and Kayte Aid’s beginning placement recordbook also placed first, both advancing to state.

Elijah’s completed ownership recordbook placed second and Brittney Dixon’s beginning ownership recordbook was third. Ciara Fossett was 5th in FFA Creed Speaking.

The Ag Sales team, Stephanie Whiteman, Abby Dean, Brittany Maggard, and Billy Davison, placed 1st at Crowder and 4th at McDonald County. Stephanie Whiteman was 1st high individual in the Ag Sales competition at Crowder, and is eligible to receive a $600 merit scholarship from Crowder College.

Katherine Moran placed 2nd in Job Interview at Crowder and 3rd at McDonald County.

The Horse team consisting of Autumn Dawson, Kayla Tanner, Ciara Fossett, Deevala Rawlings, and Trever Murrah placed 11th at McDonald County and 12th at Pleasant Hope.

Kendra Schuster, Taylor McDonald, and James Elijah make up the livestock team and placed 11th at McDonald County.

Students will be competing at districts April 2, 4, and 5 in Springfield at Missouri State University. State Convention is held in Columbia April 14 and 15.
