Heart of the Ozarks Holds Annual Buddy Bass Tournament

Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center held its 5th annual Buddy Bass Tournament March 12 out of Theodosia Marina.

A total of 33 boats entered with only nine teams checking fish.

A number of local and area businesses and individuals helped sponsor the tournament.

Dean Mitchell, Rodney Crain, Marci Caudill and Mike Burris weighed the fish at weigh-in, and Mike Burris was responsible for putting the tournament together.

First place went to Mark Sanders and Ronnie Curry with a total weight of 16 lbs., 4 oz. Mark also won Big Bass weighing in a 5-pound lunker. Ronnie won with a Big Smallmouth weighing in at 2 lbs., 12 oz.

Second place went to Danny Cutbirth and Kevan Davis with a total weight of 14 lbs., 8 oz.

Third place went to Clarence Snell and Chance Snell with a total weight of 12 lbs., 9 oz.

Fourth place was won by Randy Rose with a total weight of 11 lbs., 1 oz.

Fifth place went to Cody Ellison and Daniel Wilson with a total weight of 8 lbs., 6 oz.

It was reported that fishing was hard that day. A grand total of 86 pounds, 2 ounces of fish was checked in and released. Thirty-four fish were checked in by fishermen.

Prizes were won by Michael Dodson, Cody Ellison, Marvin Olive, Brandon Olive, Jay Shea, Stormy Williams, Milton Freeman, Michael Welch, Jesse Willis, Kenny Willis, Rick Ritter and Ronnie Curry.
