The Youth Philanthropy Committee of the Ava High School Anchor Club is accepting requests for funding for projects or activities that contribute to the betterment of youth in our area. Special attention will be given to projects that address the issues of substance abuse, drinking and driving, teen pregnancy, lack of community involvement, peer pressure, transportation problems, and the need for youth-oriented activities.
Both youth and adults working with programs or organizations are invited to apply. Grant applications are available at the high school office. The deadline for this round of grants is April 13, 2011.
The Youth Philanthropy Committee also encourages donations from individuals or businesses interested in supporting area youth. Contributions are tax deductible. For more information contact Janice Lorrain at City Hall, 683-5516, ext. 207.
