On Tuesday, March 8, our church was much involved in the funeral of Dorothy Siler. She was truly a pillar in our church. She served as Church Clerk for 35 years; as deacon’s wife, she did many things to fulfill those duties; as Sunday School teacher for many years and as Missionary Society President for several years. Dorothy’s health took her away, but she left us a great example of love and service for her Lord. Our prayers are with Bob and the children and grandchildren.
Prayer concerns shared were for Erin Crum, Dallee Sheppard, George Long, Roman Sidynik, Linda Mayberry, Fay Humbyrd and others. Josh Dalton prayed this prayer.
Happy birthday was sung to Debbie Hall.
Brad Siler prayed the offertory prayer as he and Stan Humbyrd received our Lord’s tithes and offerings.
Praises and testimonies were shared by Jerry Pitts, who thanked the Lord and the church for the goodness shown to him in his stay in the hospital. So did Phillip McFarlin and others.
Pastor Neal read from Luke 3 and II Peter 3, the people were in great expectation of Jesus. Are we?
At 6 p.m., we came back and began with singing. Pastor Neal then gave some answers to Abby Dobbs concerning a school assignment, how to grow in grace? Grandpa and Grandma Danny and Connie Johnson had to take notes.
He then read from Luke 3:16, John’s announcement of Christ’s coming by saying there is one mightier than I.
Heart of the Hills Food Harvest items were collected.
Each Tuesday is special prayer time and each Wednesday is Bible Study in Genesis.
Come and worship with us. You are welcome.
