Well if I live two more days, I will have another birthday. And the weather is supposed to be nice for me. We plan to go to Muscatine that day and Walt will buy my lunch for my birthday. And I will get to see granddaughter Lisa and the other sweet “granddaughters”. So I’m looking forward to that. We haven’t been there for about two weeks. Last week we went up to the cities and did our shopping there instead of going to Muscatine. It’s about 130 or 140 miles round trip. As the gas prices keep rising, we are cutting down on our driving. Rob met us at the Silvis Walmart as he had shopping to do also. So we got to visit with him awhile. We don’t get to see him and Sharon enough anymore nor do we get to see Frank Dee enough. I think it’s been about two months since we saw him. I don’t think Walt saw him then. I can’t remember for sure, maybe the warmer weather will help. I don’t get to walk as much this time. One of my big toes had an ingrown toenail all the way down and was really sore, and then it got infected so I went to the doctor and she gave me antibiotics and said if that doesn’t take care of it I will need to see a foot doctor. I think he comes there once or twice a month. I had started soaking my foot and then cutting the nail out of my toe and putting triple antibiotic ointment on it and a big band aid. The doctor told me to keep doing that. The nurse dressed it and said the triple antibiotic ointment was what she put on it. So as sore as it was, I didn’t walk as much. I look forward to walking inside like that. While we were talking to Rob in the store he got a call from his brother, Bud Caar and he was back in the cities so he came and picked Rob up, but we didn’t get to see him because we were still shopping and hadn’t checked out. Talked to Rob this am and he said Bud still kept his doctor in the Quad Cities and had come back for his yearly check up. He went on over to Peoria, Illinois and spent some time with his friend then went back to Kansas City. We need to get his phone number from Rob so we can call and see how he is doing with his diet and diabetes. As usual I meant to make calls over the weekend and as usual I didn’t. Seems like the week ends go by so fast I don’t get anything done. I don’t seem to get much done through the week either. Right now I’m using my toe for an excuse and trying to stay off of it as much as I can, but that wouldn’t of hurt it if I made phone calls, HA. I think I also owe letters to almost everyone I know who don’t live close to me. For some reason I don’t mind texting people on my cell phone, but don’t want to call. I’m always afraid I will bother someone. Every time I see my friend Betty she practically begs me to come and see her in LeClaire, Iowa which is just a little way on up the river from Davenport. But I just can’t seem to make it up there. In her Christmas card she said she had been in the hospital and her husband Charlie (Davis) had another stroke and is now on oxygen. I would like to call her sometime and ask her if she can make me an apple pie, because she always used to bribe me to come and see her by making me an apple pie. HA. My family and her family and the two of us really had some good times in the past, but now the only time we see each other is at funerals. I guess that happens with a lot of people anymore. People used to visit with other people for entertainment, but now everyone is too busy. They are around here anyway. This is going to be a nice day with sun. I’m like the old movie “Swamp Thing”. I get my energy from the sun. Maybe I can get something done today. I got a voice mail on my cell phone from Wayne Henderson saying Jerry Bowles wanted to have another class reunion in June and Wayne wanted to know if I’d heard about it and I hadn’t so I want to call him and find out about that. It depends a lot on where they have it. I sure would like to see everyone again and also my relatives in and around Ava. It’s been a few years now since I’ve been there to see anyone. My surprise lilies are coming up. They are a surprise; I don’t think they usually come up this early. We had a big frost last night so I hope it didn’t kill them. That’s one more reason I don’t want to move and leave all my flowers. I have accumulated so many in the (now) 18 years I have lived in this house. I guess I better end this so my sweetheart can take it to the mail box. So bye bye for now.
