New Hope Freewill Baptist Church

During Wednesday night Bible study we had a good lesson. We have been studying on the inner twelve disciples to Jesus Christ. This week we studied on Brothers, James and John, sons of Zebedee and their roles in discipleship to Christ.

During Sunday morning services we started out by taking our prayer requests to the Lord and then we dismissed to our Sunday school classes. The adults are now studying the gospel of Mark led by Bro. Lyndon. We got through the first two chapters in the gospel. The children’s Sunday school class learned about Jesus. How He turns the water into wine, the Pharisee’s questioning Jesus, Jesus preaches in the synagogues and the choosing of the twelve disciples. After Sunday school the kids sang a couple of songs and then had their penny march. We sang hymns and Bro. Mike did a special reading for us from Proverbs 15:31 and 16:3. Bro. Scott delivered the morning message from Hebrews 2:14-18, “Why Jesus Came In The Flesh.”

In these scriptures it talks about the reason that Christ came in the flesh instead of like an angel. And that through flesh and its death, He could destroy sin and the devil, by offering His sacrifice for the remission of our sins.

Sunday evening we brought forth prayer requests for Mike Jones, Happy Home Church, our upcoming revival, our nation, Mike Barnes who will be returning from Iraq soon and the Ryan Roberts family.

Our attendance for the evening was 17. After we sang songs, our evening message was delivered by Bro. Scott from the book Jeremiah 17:5-14 “Blessed is the man who trusteth in the Lord.” The best “deal” we can ever get in life will be our surrender to the Lord in exchange for salvation. We can be assured that God will hold up His end of the bargain. Of course, we have to uphold the true word of God and labor for Him also. Where do we put our hope? In what things do we put our trust? Our faith?

Service times are Wednesday Bible study at 7 p.m., Sunday school at 10 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m. and evening service at 7 p.m. We want to invite all to attend. God bless.
