Local Artists Support The Skyline Fire Department wk. 24

A number of local artist donated examples of their work to be sold in the silent auction at the annual Skyline chili supper last Saturday night.  This oil painting of the old store building in Downtown Champion was created by Pat Michaud of Marshfield and was sold to Dwayne Murphy of Mountain Grove, who plans to display it in his barbershop.  Also featured was the work of Rita Fancher in a small painting of a mill and it’s stream in autumn.  Mary Goolsby won the bid for this piece.  Work by Ava potter, Louise Walker, and Ava Art Guild’s Liz Jenkins was also featured.  Jeweler, Loren Mastrangelo, shared another of her Loren Rose Originals. Woodcrafters were generous as well.  Bill Long of Norwood donated a lamp hanger of yellow pine and Tim Scrivner gave another of his excellent bird feeders, a suet feeder, and a cedar bluebird house.  Roger Cochran donated a very interesting magazine table that he made from 100 year-old oak.  Robert Upshaw was pleased to get the bid on it.  Champion’s own local tinkerer and Fire Chief also produced a couple of nice pieces in oak.  All proceeds from the auction and the chili supper go to benefit the Skyline Area Volunteer Fire Department.
