The Carl Neiman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met on March 10 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Ava General Baptist Church.
The meeting was called to order by Regent Sandra Walker at 7:05 p.m. The meeting was opened with prayer, led by Chaplain Sherry Beasley. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and the American’s Creed were recited by all in attendance.
The regular scheduled agenda was amended so that the chapter could welcome special guest Jean Coday.
Mrs. Coday gave a wonderful program on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s life. Everyone enjoyed the program and would like to thank Mrs. Coday for taking the time to share this wonderful program with them. They were also thrilled to have Nina Carter attend. Nina is the daughter of Nancy Bolen. The local chapter is named for Nancy and Nina’s patriot.
The meeting temporarily adjourned for snacks provided by Sherry Beasley and Helen Lamb. After the snacks, they once again called the meeting to order for the business portion of the meeting
The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m. by Regent Sandra Walker and closed with prayer, led by Chaplain Sherry Beasley. The next meeting will be held at the regular meeting place, on April 14, at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by Judy Ross and Laura Findley.
