All-SCA selections for the 2010-11 basketball season were announced Monday night at the Winter Athletic Banquet.
Also announced were Ava players who were selected to the Class 2 District all-tournament team.
All-conference first team selections included Pete Leonard, for the Bears, and Jorie Garrett and Payton Lakey for the Lady Bears. Coach Clint Gazette was also named Coach of the Year as the Lady Bears went undefeated in conference play, and Garrett was SCA Player of the Year.
Following are the all-SCA and all-district tournament team selections.
All SCA Boys
1st Team: Pete Leonard, Ava; Derek Daniels, Liberty; Austin Henry, Thayer; Clint Harper, Willow Springs; Taylor James, Willow Springs.
2nd Team: Jonathon Hambacker, Salem; Jared Hummel, Willow Springs; Ricky Smith, Thayer; Trae Shelton, Ava; Carter Courtney, Mtn. Grove.

All-District Tournament
Ava’s Jorie Garrett and Payton Lakey, both juniors, were voted Nos. 1 and 2 on the Missouri Class 3 District 2 all-tournament team.
Garrett averaged 14 points per game, 8.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. She shot 65 percent at the free throw line and 45 percent from the floor, and hit 35 percent from behind the 3-point line.
Lakey also averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots per game. She averaged 2 assists per game, shot 63 percent at the line and 46 percent from the floor.
Others named to the all-tournament team are (by order of voting): Kyndall Bunch, Willow Springs; Jensen Massengale, Seymour; Jamie Reaves, Cabool; Ashley Sanders, Seymour; Haley Watson, Mtn. Grove; Taylor Pruett, Liberty; Erica Keeney, Houston; and Kyra Bunch, Willow Springs.
Ava Bears Pete Leonard and Trae Shelton, both seniors, were also voted to the all-district tournament team, landing third and seventh places, respectively, in the voting.
Leonard averaged 26.2 points per game and 11.2 rebounds. He shot 72 percent at the free throw line and 60 percent from the field. He also hit 44 percent of his 3-point shots in the tournament.
Shelton averaged 12.6 points per game and had 3.1 assists. He sank 79.3 percent at the charity stripe and 40 percent of his field goals, connecting on 34 percent from 3-point range. He had 1.7 steals and 3.9 rebounds per game.
Liberty’s Derek Daniels was the top vote-getter in the district tournament, followed by Ben Debow, Licking, then Ava’s Leonard. Others, in order, were Clint Harper, Willow Springs; Jordan Humbyrd, Seymour; Taylor James, Willow Springs; Shelton, Ava; Donovan Baker, Cabool; and Kalon Honeycutt, Alton.
Both the Bears and Lady Bears won their respective district tournaments at Cabool.
