Last week I forgot to put in my items about the surprise birthday and get well party for Dee Dee Moore of Mountain Grove. It was held in the airport building west of the city. A large crowd attended and there were so many good things to eat. Her cake was delicious. She is the daughter of Larry and Laurel Hall. She has three sons and they had grown so much since I had seen them. Dee Dee had cancer surgery at Columbia, Mo. yesterday, Monday, and came through it fine, seemingly. That is her second surgery. Actually she had two different places operated on yesterday. Her throat and pancreas. Keep her in your prayers.
I also forgot about mentioning they finally had Velma Gray’s party. There were 120+ relatives and friends. She said she enjoyed seeing them so much.
Victory Hill Church was happy to have the Crews and Richardson families back in church. They also enjoy Debbie Rich and daughter Stephanie Bradshaw and two children Kalie and Gunner. Remember you are always welcome at Victory Hill Church. Hopefully the Duane and Mary Atchison family will be with the congregation. They are missed so much.
Donnasue Cottengim is feeling some better. Tina Sweet is working in her office at Norwood. That helps her a bunch. Donnasue sends ladies out to help people clean and cook. It is a wonderful service.
Wayne Cottengim has back trouble, he’s been cutting wood recently and overdid it.
Opal Chadwell has moved in with her son Bob and wife Shirley east of town. Opal has lived alone since she lost her husband, Paul. She is the former Opal Sumner, daughter of Claude and wife. Bob is her only child.
Sorry about the death of Ryan Roberts of Mansfield and Oscar Absher. We send sympathy to the families. Oscar was 95 and lived on the farm he was born on near Norwood.
We’re so saddened about the death of our long time friend, Wallace Greenfield. He has had cancer of the stomach. He was in the care center at Autumn Oaks for some time. He and his wife Alene lived on their farm just a small way north of Norwood.
Vickie Jackson of Kansas City, Mo. called me yesterday and informed me of the death of her mother. Her mother was a Raney.
Rhonda (Moody) Coy, wife of Norman, and my niece called me and gave me a surprise. I kept her a lot when she was a pre-schooler. She just lives at Hartville but works every day at the court house and we just don’t get together.
Today, Saturday, I attended Wallace Greenfield’s funeral. Got to see his family. My daughter, Leah, took me. A large crowd attended.
Mrs. John Roberts, Jr., the former Kati Williams, had major surgery, Monday but is home now doing good.
We had a thunder storm last night, got some good rain and my, it’s so cold out today. The fog is bad. The sun’s supposed to shine this afternoon. I’m ready.
I enjoyed visiting with Joan Gray yesterday at the beauty shop.
Dee Dee Moore is still at the hospital in Columbia.
It’s so cold for an auction today. The Chadwell Taylor Auction service had a sale in Mountain Grove today.
