Ethel May Posey, 90 years, passed to heaven on March 9, 2011 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, Mo.
Ethel was born June 2, 1920 in McDonald County, Mo., to Moses and Frankie Belle (Lewis) Proctor.
On July 4, 1936 Ethel and Audie Ray Posey were united in marriage in Ava, Mo., and to this union four children were born. Ethel enjoyed working on the farm with Audie. She also enjoyed quilting and gardening.
Ethel was a member of the Goodhope General Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Audie Ray in 1993; her son Dale, who was killed while serving in Vietnam; three great-grandchildren; twin sister, Edith; half sisters, Pearl and Waneeta; and a half brother, Ernest.
Ethel is survived by three children and their spouses, Jimmie and Janice Posey, Ava, Mo., Dorothy and Raymond Fouard, Salina, Kans., and Linda and Tony Stillings, Ava, Mo.; nine grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Ethel will be Saturday, March 12, at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Mo., with burial in the Goodhope Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Maxine Lund. Memorials may be made to Goodhope Cemetery.
