The weather is beginning to be a bit warmer and we are gearing up for a busy spring ahead! Our guest last week was Teresa Graham who is a former member of club. Topics of discussion were Pizza Hut Fundraiser and Kiwanis One Day project on April 2.
In other fundraiser efforts, Doris at Highway House has graciously allowed us to use part of her parking lot to have a fundraiser. It will be held on April 8, weather permitting. If you have items you’d like to donate, or you are a member and can help on that day, please contact Donna Dixon at 683-1918.
Please note: In lieu of a business meeting this week we will be meeting at noon at the Highway House, but only to go out in groups and pass out coupons to businesses hopeful that it will gain us a lot of business for our Thursday night fundraiser at Pizza Hut. If you like pizza, please come and eat with us, or order carry out. Coupons will be available at the door and 20 percent of our ticket will go to our club to support children’s projects in the community.
On Tuesday, March 8, some of our members plan to attend the Chamber Luncheon. It is sponsored by Ava R-1 and will be held in the Decker Library. According to Judy at the Chamber office, one of the classes there is preparing lunch and she is not sure what is on the menu. I guess it’s “cook’s surprise”!

March 14 Terrific Kids at Ava Elementary 2:30. Much thanks to Judy at the Chamber and to CenturyLink for donating bags to be used for that program.
