Accidental Shooting Takes Life Of Mtn. Grove Man

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Wednesday afternoon that a Mtn. Grove man died Saturday in Douglas County of an accidental gunshot.

On Saturday, March 5, the Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Shooting Iron, a business located in the Vanzant area of eastern Douglas County, for a shooting.

The incident was investigated by Sheriff Chris Degase who confirmed the shooting was accidental.

The victim was identified as Glenn Seymour, 63, of Mtn. Grove, who was pronounced dead upon the arrival of the sheriff.

Degase said the shooting occurred during a Conceal and Carry Course that Seymour was attending.

The sheriff said it appeared the victim was attempting to take the gun off safety when it discharged.
