Skyline School Board Approves 4 Weeks of Summer School in June

The Skyline R-2 Board of Education met in regular session on Thursday, Feb. 17 with five members present. The consent agenda items were discussed and approved.

Under old business the board continued discussions on next year’s budget and also discussed how this year’s budget is progressing. They talked about whether they were going to need to continue to cut the budget or just maintain this year’s budget for next year. No decisions were made at this time.

Under new business, the board voted to accept the MAP and TerraNova testing schedule for spring 2011. The board then set the reorganizational board meeting for April 7 at 7 p.m.

The board discussed the need for summer school and whether funding will be available. After the discussion they voted to have four weeks of summer school in June.

In the superintendent’s report, statistics for January include: enrollment of 81 and 11 preschoolers with an attendance of 95 percent.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 17, at 7 p.m.
