Ava Kiwanis Club and Ava High School named Citizens of the Month last Thursday at the Highway House Cafe. The theme for February is “Diversity.”
Citizens of the Month for February are Amber Henderson, daughter of Jane and Lazaro Hernandez, and Andrew Casey, son of Kim and Sam Rolling.
Amber is a member of Pep Club. Her plans after high school are to go to college and to eventually become an actress.
Faculty members commented, “Amber is always very friendly to all students and fits into many different social groups within the school.”
Andrew is a member of drama, Destination Imagination, speech and debate, Thespian Society, FBLA, FCCLA, Chamber Choir, Quiz Bowl, and the A+ Program.
Casey’s plans after high school are to go to OTC for two years and then transfer to Drury University.
Faculty comments: “Andrew is a very interesting young man who is involved in multiple activities. He is always friendly and listens to other viewpoints.”
