As we wrap up our 7th week here in the house, 714 Bills have been filed in the Missouri House of Representatives. We have passed 12 of those bills out of the House, and sent them to the Senate. April 1st is the last day to file a Bill in the house.
This week the House took up and passed the following bills:
HB 71 by a vote of 109-46. The bill would allow the City of St. Louis to establish and maintain a municipal police force completely under the city’s authority.
HB 139 by a vote of 154-0. The bill would require the Office of Administration to maintain public school and county and municipal government accountability infor-mation and the governor’s travel information on the Missouri Accountability Portal.
HB 209 by a vote of 109-43. The bill would revise the laws regarding private nuisances when it originates from property used for farming, agriculture, crop, or animal production purposes and when a court must visit an alleged affected property.
HB 107 by a vote of 105-50. The bill would require special elections to fill certain vacancies in the positions of United States Senator, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Auditor, and State Treasurer.
HB 205 by a vote of 95-59.
The bill would change the laws regarding unlawful discriminatory employment practices as they relate to the Missouri Human Rights Law and establishes the Whistleblower Protection Act.

I have set March 15 as the deadline for the survey as I feel we will be voting on many of the issues such as: Teacher Tenure, Open Enrollment, Right to Work, and Fair Tax that the survey deals with soon after that date.
