Dogwood wk. 23

There is a hint of spring in the air, and someone mentioned the turkey buzzards are moving back.

March came in like a lamb and I’m going to hope it goes out like a lamb.

The church members of Dogwood Nazarene will continue the discussion of a name change this Sunday after worship service, with the idea of adding “Community” into the name.  As many may already know, the Dogwood church family likes to include other churches and be included with other churches in worship services and activities, and by adding “Community” to the name, the Church board thought to extend the idea through our new sign.  As always, we want to be in agreement as we move forward.  Sam has offered to place the original sign above the driveway like a ranch gate for those who like ranch gates.  (Laugh out loud)  And as the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ goes forward through our church and others, and when all is said and done, we want the Lord to say, “Well done, good and faithful servant”.

Well, the positive response about last week’s column has been very strong.  Folks are expressing agreement and interest in the Lord’s desire to minister healing to his children, and, it is causing a stirring in the hearts of many and is being discussed among loved ones. I pray that it continues to be a part of your thoughts and devotional time with the Lord.  (Devotional time is spending quiet time with God).  As we go through the year, I will gladly revisit God’s healing power.  I had covered this topic for many weeks prior to last week’s conclusion of learning how to receive God’s healing, and I  encourage those interested to review the earlier columns through the Herald’s archive.

As I see the blue sky and fluffy clouds and know that spring is near, my heart fills with gratitude and love for a God who loved us so much that he made a way for this lost human race to connect with Him again through his son Jesus, and I count my blessings.  God is so good.  Everything good comes from God, and he wants good for you.  The bible says God is a spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.  As the cold deadness of winter yields to the beginnings of new life and spring, if you sense a stirring in your heart toward God and would like to know Him, the way is through his son Jesus.

Jesus died for our sin which separated us from God, but God raised Jesus back to life again and now death has no power over Him.  If you believe in your heart that Jesus did this for you and that he is alive right now, you can ask him to come into your heart and He will.   Why?  Because Jesus loves you and wants to spend the rest of eternity with you-starting right now.

On the other hand, I want you to know if you choose to not live with God, you are choosing an eternity without anything good, since everything good comes from God.  But, dear friend, if you run to God, He will meet you where you are with love and celebration that you have decided to return to the One who created you!

Until next time, God bless you and your loved ones.
