CBCO Plans Two Blood Drives Here Tuesday, March 8

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will accept blood donations at two locations in Ava on Tuesday, March 8.

From 9 to 10:30 a.m., CBCO will be set up at Missouri Ozarks Community Health (MOCH), 504 NW 10th Ave., to accept blood donors.

Then from 1 to 5 p.m., the collection site will move to Scroll Compressors, 1400 NW 3rd St., to receive blood donors.

CBCO has issued a Code Yellow Alert for type O negative blood, meaning there is less than a two-day supply of this blood type on hospital shelves.

Your donation is needed to help replenish the supply. It takes over 275 donations every day to meet the needs of the 37 area hospitals that use CBCO products.

Eligibility requirements include weighing at least 110 pounds, being in general good health and present required ID.

A single blood donation can save the lives of up to three people.
